Stabilized methyl chloroform compositions contain at least one aliphatic monohydric alcohol and toluene. Typical of several specified alcohols are tert-amyl alcohol, 2-methyl-3-hexyne-2-ol and propargyl alcohol. The methyl chloroform may be present in admixture with other solvents, e.g. methylene chloride, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, 1,2-dichloroethane, and tri- and per-chloroethylene. Any of a plurality of optional additives may also be present, including C1-3 nitroalkanes, C2-10 epoxides, diepoxides, 1,3-dioxolanes, ketones, nitriles, dialkoxyalkanes, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, furan, or pyran. |
