Disclosed is a combination thermometer and fecal specimen sampling device (1) which permits the concurrent sampling of a fecal specimen and measuring of body temperature from a single penetration of a rectum. The sheath (10) comprises an elongated, rigid, cylindrical sheath with partially cutaway distal end to form a scoop (12). The thermometer is inserted into an annular bore in the sheath. |
