<p>PURPOSE:To hold the contents of a storage for a long period in its non- application state by stopping the working of a timepiece means when a detection means detects that the power voltage of a main power unit is lower than a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 5 carries out a due process in accordance with the type of the input supplied from a keyboard 8. Then the CPU 5 stops the working of a timepiece after judging that the output voltage V0 of a voltage detecting element 3 is kept at an L level. Thus the CPU 5 is set in an OFF mode. Only the stand-by currents are consumed for the CPU 5 and a memory 6 in terms of the power consumption of an electronic memo. As a result, the contents of a memory 6 can be held for several years with use of a memory back-up spare battery 4 only.</p> |
