An attachment 34 for a spirit burner consists of a cylinder 35 which, at its lower end, has cutouts 38 for inflow of fuel air and, at its upper edge, has cutouts 56 for outflow of combustion gases when a cooking vessel is placed on the upper end of the cylinder. Arranged inside the cylinder, in a diametral plane between its ends, is an incandescent body in the form of a coil 40 which is wound from a band of metal. The width of the band is smaller than half the height of the cylinder, preferably roughly a third to a quarter of this height, the height of the cylinder being at most roughly the same as the diameter of the cylinder, preferably around half the diameter. <IMAGE> |
