PURPOSE:To transport a metallic strip of Al or the like smoothly together with heat treatments in the stage of moving said strip in a heat treatment device by ejecting treating gases from plenum chambers provided with many gas ejection holes on the top and bottom and area adjustable shutters. CONSTITUTION:A stripe 18 of A or A alloy is passed through a heater 11, a slow cooler 12 and a cooler 13 successively, whereby it is heat treated. In this case, plenum chambers 20, 32, 38 are provided in the upper and lower parts in the above-mentioned respective devices, and hot wind, warm wind and cold wind are ejected through the many small holes provided on the top and bottom surfaces of the respective chambers, whereby the Al strip 18 is heatd, slow-cooled and cooled. While the strip 18 is floated by the gases ejecting from the top and bottom surfaces, they are conveyed in an X direction. When the width of the Al strip to be treated differs, the ejection surfaces of the plenum chambers are adjusted in conformity with the surfaces of the strip. |
