PURPOSE:To prevent the generation control mistakes of users by providing a process request information input means, an initialization means, a line identifier reassigning means, a generation restoring means, a generation updating means, and a program editing means. CONSTITUTION:A process request information input means 1 analyzes the process request information inputted from an input/output device 6 and adds the updating date and the valid line display for each source program to start an initialization means 2, a line identifier reassigning means 3, a generation restoring means 4, a generation updating means 5, or a source program editing means 7. Thus it is possible to let a user know the updating time of generations, to automatically update the generations with instructions of the user, and to return the generation to the optional one. Furthermore a line identifier is reassigned so as to secure an idle space between lines of the source program. Then the source program can be edited and the generation control mistakes of users can be prevented.
