The invention relates to a method of mechanical ventilation in which an interior room space of a building or the like is heated up by a heating network 30-35, which is provided with automatic control adjustment. At the same time the air in the interior room space is made to circulate continuously in that air is drawn out of the interior room space by means of a ventilation device 10 forming part of the ventilation system, and in that the said ventilation device 10 blows replacement air, drawn from outside, into the interior room space. The replacement air is heated up in a heat recovery cell system 13 of the ventilation device 10 using heat energy from the air that is removed from the interior room space. In addition the air that is to be blown in is reheated downstream of the said heat recovery cell 13 before it is blown into the interior room space. The inlet air that is to be blown into the interior room space is reheated by a reheating circuit, which uses circulating liquid, its temperature being control by the automatic control adjustment 33-35 of the heating network system 30-35 of the building or the like, in such a way that the temperature of the inlet air that is to be blown into the interior room space is adjusted so that it is equal to the temperature of the heating network system.
