PURPOSE: To verify whether a telephone user is the valid user or a misrepresenter by giving an input sound signal to LPC analysis and deriving a set of spectra and the parameter of energy based on sound signal and the spectrum content of the sound signal. CONSTITUTION: A user supplies a voice sample for obtaining access right. The inputted voice sample is given to linear prediction encoding(LPC) analysis in a circuit 26 after it is digitized. A sound utterance detection circuit 28 estimates an RMS energy sound utterance level parameter. A feature extraction circuit 30 calculates the plural parameters from the respective frames of LPC data and features by linear conversion is derived.
