The invention relates to an assembly member particularly for fixing a clamping device or its components to the bed of a machine tool, the said appliance consisting of a casing (1) provided with a power-multiplying finger (2) operated by a worm (4), the said casing either being fixed directly to the bed of the machine tool through the interposition of an assembly member (5) bearing on the base of the casing and screwing into one of the tapped orifices in the bed, or into a hand anvil (10) housed in one of the grooves of the said bed, or coupled to at least one raiser (11) fixed respectively to the casing and to the bed of the machine tool. This member is characterised in that it consists of a metallic shank one of the ends of which includes a head (7) of constant diameter, the latter being extended by a smooth cylindrical section (22) of variable length, but which also has a constant nominal diameter, the said section being extended by a threaded part (6) the diameter and pitch of which vary from one member to another. <IMAGE>
