<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a handwriting input device without being affected by the influence of an induced noise and also manufactured comparatively inexpensively by scanning a light input pen by providing a liquid crystal display plate as an input means, a photoelectric converter provided on the back plane of the plate, and the light input pen. CONSTITUTION:The device incorporates a display plate 2 provided with line shape electrodes for a row and a column and in which a transparent part and an opaque part are formed by the selective driving of those electrodes for the row and the column, the photoelectric converter 3 arranged on the back plane of the display plate 2, and a light source. The device is comprised of the light input pen 4 which performs the handwriting of the surface of the display plate 2, a row driving means which performs scan by adding a timing signal on the row electrode in time divisional fashion, and a column driving means which performs the scan by adding the timing signal on the column electrode in time divisional fashion, and inputs the position of the light input pen 4 derived from the photoelectric converter 3. In such a way, it is possible to display handwritten information on the liquid crystal display plate 2, and to perform both handwriting input and plotting display only with the liquid crystal display plate 2 and the photoelectric converter 3 without requiring to provide a digitizer 1 and a panel for display by overlapping, and to obtain an inexpensive handwriting information input device.</p> |
