PURPOSE:To obtain an image-recording ink improved in adhesion to a transfer medium in a rocess for performing printing by changing the adhesiveness of an ink by the application of a voltage, by compounding a colloidal sol containing a liquid dispersing medium with a polymerizable precursor. CONSTITUTION:1 pt. wt. inorganic or organic particles (A) of a mean particle diameter <= 100 mum is mixed with 40-95 pts. wt. liquid dispersing medium (B), 10-1000 pts. wt. polymerizable precursor (C) which is a compound which can be cured by a polymerization reaction such as addition polymerization or polycondensation when light and/or thermal energy is applied thereto and optionally 1-90 pts. wt. component B-soluble polymer, swellable particles, 0.1-40 pts. wt. colorant, etc., to form a colloidal sol to form 100 pts. wt. title ink which adheres to one electrode but does not adhere to the other electrode when a voltage is applied between a pair of a cathode and an anode in contact with the ink and has a viscosity (at 25 deg.C and a shear rate of 10 rad/s) of 1-10<12> P and a volume resistivity <= 10<5>OMEGA.cm. |
