PURPOSE:To improve strength of porcelain without changing electrical properties by blending a spinel-based thermistor porcelain composition comprising main components of Mn and Ni as metallic elements with a specific amount of Pb element as an auxiliary component. CONSTITUTION:Main components of Mn and Ni as metallic elements are blended with 0.1-10 atomic % Pb element as an auxiliary component and preferably further 0.1-10 atomic % based on the main components of at least one of B and Si element to produce a thermistor porcelain composition. Consequently, a liquid-phase reaction partially occurs at a point of sintering, a spinel phase of main component elements is precipitated during cooling, Pb, B, Si, etc., of addition elements remain in a grain boundary and a glass phase is formed so that a high-strength thermistor porcelain is obtained. By using the porcelain, production efficiency, reliability, etc., of the product can be improved and the porcelain can be also applied to thin, small-sized products. |
