A description is given of a process for making a cable for optical fibres combined in a ribbon, comprising a cylindrical core 9 provided on its outer surface with parallel grooves 10 extending in a helical configuration along the axis of the cable, within which at least one pair of ribbons 1 are radially superimposed. Each ribbon 1 comprises a plurality of optical fibres 2, each of which is covered by a primary stratified coating 3, formed by a first layer 5 in direct contact with the fibres 2 with an elastic modulus lower than that of the elastic modulus of a second outer layer 6, and by a coating 4 common to the optical fibres of the tape. The method provides for the laying of the ribbons 1 in the grooves by applying to each ribbon 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e a longitudinal tension which is greater than the longitudinal tension applied to the ribbon radially superimposed upon it. <IMAGE> |
