A cable for strip-bound optical fibres is described, said cable comprising a cylindrical core 9 provided on its external surface with parallel grooves 10 extending helically along the axis of the cable, at least one pair of strips 1 being radially superimposed inside at least one of said grooves 10. Each strip 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e comprises a plurality of optical fibres 2, each of which is covered by a stratified primary coating 3 and by a coating 4 which is common for the optical fibres of the strip. The primary coating 3 is formed by a first layer 5 in direct contact with the fibres 2 and by a second layer 6 outside the first layer 5, the elasticity modulus of said first layer 5 being less than the elasticity modulus of said second layer 6. A longitudinal tension is applied to each strip 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, said tension being greater than the longitudinal tension applied to the strip radially superimposed on it. <IMAGE> |
