<p>A method for detecting and measuring concentrations of antibodies and antigenic organic substances in material and mixtures such as body and cellular sample material, as for example, serum, tears, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid is provided. The method includes employing the techniques of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) wherein an ELISA test plate is coated with an adsorbent material. Also provided is a quantitative immunogenic test apparatus with a surface that is coated with a solid, finely divided adsorbent material, as for example, a silica gel coated ELISA test plate. The method provides detection and measurement of low concentrations of antibodies and antigenic organic substances, such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and pharmaceutical substances. The method advantageously permits specific lipid determination in the presence of contaminating substances such as other lipids.</p> |
