A rotary printing machine has a sheet guiding cylinder (3) which is installed between a first printing cylinder (1) and a second printing cylinder. The sheet guiding cylinder is provided with grippers and suction devices to hold the sheet whilst it is being transferred. The sheet can be removed from the guiding cylinder by means of hinged flaps (6). Each flap is attached by a strip of elastic material (13) which extends over the opening of the suction chamber of the guiding cylinder. The flaps are arranged in a line which runs parallel to the axis of the guiding cylinder. USE - Rotary printing machines.
