A method of forming relief images comprises the steps of applying a master comprising an oxygen barrier (1) with image openings (4) therein to the surface of a photo hardening resin (5) but which is not hardened in air and is coated on an air-impermeable support (6), applying light to the resin (5) thus hardening the areas of the resin where the oxygen barrier is located but not areas (7) which are also exposed to air thus not hardened. Thereafter, the image is "developed" by removing non-hardened areas of the resin leaving the desired image (8) in relief thereon. Alternatively, an air-impermeable image may be printed or embossed onto resin layer (5) and a relief image produced (Fig 3). <IMAGE> |
