Varying tone of guitar - involves replacing fret which fits in recess in guitar neck

The tone of a guitar can be varied by using a replaceable fret (2) which is fitted in a recess cut in the neck of the guitar. The fret (2) is held in the recess by horizontal pins (4) which project from a retaining plate (3). The retaining plate (3) is secured by screws (1) to the floor of the recess. Before the screws (1) are fully tightened the horizontal position of the fret can be adjusted to achieve the required tone. When the fret is in its desired position it is held firmly in that position by fully tightening the screws (1). USE - Guitars with adjustable and exchangeable frets to vary tone.
