摘要 PURPOSE:To increase capacity and to retard capacity deterioration attendant on charge-discharge cycles by mixing lithium hydroxide containing no water of crystallization and manganese dioxide and heat-treating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material 3 comprising manganese dioxide containing Li2MnO3 is manufactured by mixing lithium hydroxide containing no water of crystallization and manganese dioxide, and heat-treating the mixture. The positive active material has large x value in MnOx and gamma-betaMnO2 produced by heat-treatment has large X-ray diffraction intensity. Breakage of crystal structure caused by doping and undoping of alkali metal ions is decreased. The positive active material having good charge-discharge performance and high capacity can be obtained and a battery whose capacity deterioration attendant on charge-discharge cycles is small can be obtained.
