The synchronising ring (1) for the clutch of a vehicle gear has two parallel conical surfaces (2,3) parallel to the gear axle. The surfaces are broken in a peripheral direction by profiling on the entire synchroniser ring. Both surfaces are coated with a frictional coating. The contact surfaces are compacted and smoothed to give a uniform support on the inner and outer cones. USE/ADVANTAGE - The synchroniser ring is improved as to its accuracy to size, rotation and surface properties.
