发明名称 Ascertaining slip between railway wheel and drive friction roller - applying latter to bogie during machining for re-profiling
摘要 A method of accurately determining the slip between the periphery of a railway wheel (8) and its friction roller drive (7) during the reprofiling of a bogie wheel pair (1) is based on a comparison of their relative r.p.m. or peripheral velocities. For this purpose a tachometer wheel (16), ideally of similar external profile to the roller (7), is placed in rolling contact with the railway wheel (8) under sufficient pressure (18) to obviate slip. In conjunction with the known rotational speed of the friction roller (7) a direct determination of slip in the processing plane of the railway wheel (8) is thus enabled. USE/ADVANTAGE - Measurement of slip caused by cutting tool load is continuously determined during wheel reprofiling so that changes in wheel diameter are fully accounted for. Accurate understanding of slip condition is important indicator for optimising cutting parameters e.g. speeds, feeds, depth of cut etc.
