PURPOSE:To provide a data recording medium having high recording sensitivity and a high C/N ratio and excellent in durability and weatherability by containing a metal resinate in recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion prepared by mixing light absorbent fine powder, a binder, metal resinate and an org. solvent is applied to a substrate and dried to form a recording layer. As the fine powder, carbon black, pipment or a metal powder is used and, as the binder, nitrocellulose or a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer is pref. used. As the metal resinate, a metal salt of 11-22C fatty acid is pref. As the metal salt of fatty acid, alkali metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts or other metal salts of caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and oleic acid are designated and copper or zinc salt of fatty acid is especially pref. Metal salt of fatty acid is used in an amount of 0.1-100 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the binder. |
