<p>A cooling mechanism for a flywheel assembly comprising a first flywheel (12), a second flywheel (30), and a clutch cover assembly (32), in which cooling holes (52) are provided in the inner peripheral part of the second flywheel (30) and substantially radial cooling grooves (50) for radially blowing out the air in the clutch cover assembly (32) exhausted from the cooling holes (52) are formed in front of the second flywheel (30). Cooling air circulation passages are formed with the provision of cooling holes (52) and atmospheric cooling air is efficiently fed into the clutch cover assembly (32) so as to cool the friction surface of the second flywheel (30). Further the blowing action of the cooling grooves (50) serves to actively exhaust the air in the clutch cover assembly (32) to the atmosphere through the cooling holes (52), whereby the pressure in the clutch cover assembly (32) becomes negative and ensures more active feeding of the atmospheric cooling air into the clutch cover assembly (32).</p> |
