In a magneto-optical recording and/or playback device, a wheel (R1) fastened to a first pivoting arm (AR1) presses the record carrier, a disk (CD), against a counter wheel (R1). The bottom surface of the disk (CD) is scanned by an optical scanner. An electromagnet (M) located immediately above the top surface of the disk (CD) reverses the magnetization of the disk (CD). To prevent the magnet (M) from scratching the disk (CD) during insertion or removal of the disk, the first arm (AR1) is pivoted upward. The magnet (M) is fastened to a second arm (AR2) which can pivot about an axis (A2) and rests on one arm (AR3) of a lever (H). The other arm (AR4) of the lever (H), which is fastened to an axis (A3) on the first arm (AR1), strikes against a limit stop (A5). When the first arm (AR1) is pivoted upward, the arm (AR3) of the lever (H) pushes the second arm (AR2) upward, together with the magnet, and lifts it off the disk. As the other arm (AR4) of the lever (H) strikes against the limit stop (AS), the lever (H) rotates about its axis (A3), whereupon the second arm (AR2), together with the electromagnet (M), is pivoted even farther from the disk (CD). |
