<p>Cooling towers (12) of evaporative air conditioners (10) can be disinfected of such organisms as Legionella by regularly raising the temperature of coolant water within the collection tank (14) of the cooling tower (12) to a disinfecting temperature. Preferably a circuit 32/46 of coolant water is established through an external heating and filtering apparatus (30) until the desired temperature is achieved in the collection tank (14). Method and apparatus are disclosed.</p> |
