摘要 |
The basis for a catalytic plate is formed by applying a loose mass of fibres, esp. metal fibres (3) to both faces of a metallic support structure (1) of woven, knitted or netted wire, or possibly perforated or expanded metal sheet. The fibres are bonded to the support structure, esp. by sintering, to provide a stable structure. A rolling or other flattening process modifies the reinforced structure to the desired catalytic plate thickness, producing level surfaces (8,9). Catalyte material is then applied in slurry of powder form to fill the interstices of the structure, which may finally be sprayed with a binder. ADVANTAGE - No fibres need mixing into the catalyst itself, and the final prod. is resistant to abrasion, flaking and temp. variations.
