<p>A method and test kit for indirectly assaying for Protein C is described. The method uses tissue thrombomodulin/tissue factor (TTP) and calcium chloride to produce thrombin and activate Protein C to Protein Ca without fibrin formation and then allows time for Protein Ca to inactivate Factors V and VIII. A deficient plasma has a decreased activated thromboplastin assay clotting time compared to a control plasma. The method and test kit are used to diagnose thrombic diseases.</p> |
