<p>The closing force of a door closer (1, 2) can be adjusted in modern versions, so that it can be matched to the particular prevailing conditions, especially the size or weight of the door to be closed. But an adjustment of the closing force presupposes that it can be measured. For varying the closing force, normally a closing spring (9) (helical compression spring) is tensioned to a greater or lesser extent. This is achieved by means of an adjusting mechanism (12) which can include a spring plate (11), against which one end of the closing spring (9) is pressed. Preferably, a transmitter (20), especially a permanent magnet, is now attached to this spring plate (11). Its position relative to a fixed point or a fixed surface of the door-closer housing (3, 4) changes with a variation of the spring force and therefore also of the closing force of the door closer (1, 2). This position of the transmitter (20) can be detected contactlessly from outside, specifically by means of an indicator (6) which, according to the invention, is removable and can therefore be used with different door closers at least of the same type. The transmitter (20) acts on the indicator element (40) of an indicator member (36) of this indicator (6), and its respective position relative to an indicator scale (37, 38) or the like constitutes a directly or indirectly usable indication of the instantaneous closing force. <IMAGE></p> |
