This apparatus (1) is so designed that liquid fuel is vaporized by a heating plug (10) disposed in a tubular body (2) when the temperature in a combustion chamber is low whereas it is vaporized by radiant heat of the combustion chamber through fins (5) provided in the outer part of the tubular body when the temperature in the combustion chamber is high. An open-cellular member (3) which has numerous intercommunicating pores and excellent heat conducting properties is disposed in a fuel passage (8) in the tubular body. The liquid fuel is turned into thin films by the intercommunicating pores in the open-cellular member improving vaporization and preventing bumping of oil droplets in the tubular body.
