<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the device and to facilitate operations as well as to improve the efficiency of treating sewage by forming a bioreaction chamber to an open part and a hermetic part, providing a weir for discharging supernatant water in the open part and providing a deaerating pipe, raw water supplying means and feed pipe in the hermetic part. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed volume of the raw water is admitted by a supplying means 12 into the reaction chamber 1. Air is fed from an air diffuser 13 into the chamber in an aeration stage. Sludge is settled after the aeration stage. The air from an air feed pipe 15 is fed from the feed pipe 16 into the upper part of the hermetic part 5 in the period when the settlement of the sludge progresses. The water surface in the open part 4 is pushed up by the pressure of the air fed into the chamber until the water flows over the overflow gate 7. The supernatant water is taken out of a drain pipe 9 to the outside of the chamber. The inflow of scum 18 to the overflow weir 7 is prevented by a baffle plate 8. This device allows easy maintenance and inspection and the drastic reduction of the cost.</p> |
