METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING MINERAL FIBER FLEECE FROM ROCK WOOL

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing low-bulk density mineral fiber fleeces in high productivity from rock wool by collecting fibers on the suction surfaces of collecting conveyors belonging to respective shredding units and respectively increased in the feed direction. CONSTITUTION: This method for producing mineral fiber fleeces from rock wool comprises forming fiber/air/gas mixtures 3, 4 in a box-shaped falling chute 5 from shredding units 1, 2... and forming wool fleeces 7 on the suction surfaces (a), b of a collecting conveyor unit 6; wherein the collecting conveyor unit 6 is equipped with a perforated conveyor belt 8 and the arch length of the suction surface b is greater than that of the suction surface (a).
