<p>PURPOSE:To use an IC card and a conventional IC card in common according to the presence of a control signal by making the dimension of the IC module on the IC card provided with an additional terminal same to that of the IC module of the conventional IC card based on ISO. CONSTITUTION:The dimension of the IC module 20 embedded in an IC card 10 is made same to that of the IC module of a conventional IC card and connection terminals C1-C8 also has the same dimension as conventional ones. However, the difference between both of them resides in that additional terminals A1-A8 are adjacent to the terminals C1-C8 back to back. A check signal showing whether an inserted IC card is an additional terminal provided type is sent to the IC card from a terminal machine 30. At the time of YES, for example, control signals S1='1', S2='0' are sent to the terminal machine (reverse at the time of NO) and a mode is changed over and data is given and received through signal wires l1-l8, l'1-l'8 related to the additional terminals A1-A8, A'1-A'8 of both of them.</p> |
