PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of a jump in a pattern to be printed, by equipping an apparatus with a first auxiliary driving means having a second gear wheel engaging with a toothed element and by supplying constantly a couple which makes one gear wheel drive a stencil and makes the other retain it. CONSTITUTION: A gear wheel 16 drives a stencil 6 and this drive is braked by a gear wheel 8. The speed of rotation of the gear wheel 8 connected with synchronization with carriage of a web 15 and the speed of rotation of a driving device of the gear wheel 8 connected with the use of a common motor 1, in particular, are proportional to the speed of the web 15, and therefore an auxiliary motor 17 can not give the stencil 6 a speed of rotation higher than the speed of rotation determined by that of the gear wheel 8, irrespective of an output of this motor. When the auxiliary motor 17 supplying an output sufficient for driving the stencil 6 is fitted, the speed is always kept normal, notwithstanding the friction between the stencil 6 and the web 15. As the result, occurrence of a jump in a pattern to be printed is prevented. |
