<p>PURPOSE:To provide a valve timing variable mechanism with high durability by supporting a sleeve connected to a cam shaft so that it may rotate freely within a prescribed angle, and rotating relatively a pulley and the sleeve by the energization of an electromagnet installed on a stationary side member. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 3 is secured at the end of a cam shaft 1 which opens and closes an engine valve, and an arc-shaped fin group (first magnetic substance) 4 is mounted around the outer periphery of the sleeve 3. Next, a shaft side rotor 5 is secured at the shaft end of the sleeve 3, and around the rotor 5, arc-shaped fin groups (first magnetic substance) 6, 7 are secured in a peripheral direction. Moreover, around the outer periphery of the sleeve 3, a pulley 8 is held so that it may rotate freely through a rotor 9 by a bearing 10, and arc-shaped fin groups (second magnetic substance) 11-13 are secured around the inner periphery of the pulley 8 and the rotor 9, being positioned between the fin groups 4, 6, 7. The first and second magnetic substances are attracted by each other at the time of the energization of the electromagnet 14, which makes the pulley 8 and the sleeve 3 rotate relatively within a prescribed angle.</p> |
