PURPOSE:To obtain ice lump starting action simultaneously with thawing, decomposing and assimilating an offensive smell component evolved from fresh fish, etc., by containing photosynthetic bacteria. CONSTITUTION:Red non-sulfur bacteria or red sulfur bacteria, which are photosynthetic bacteria having function of rapidly decomposing offensive smell components and being found to be harmless by experience, are frozen and subjected to dormancy as viable bacteria in inside of ice lump. In the operation, the count of the photosynthetic bacteria blended is >=10<5> cells/ml in the ice lump. When the ice lump containing the photosynthetic bacteria is used for transportation, preservation, etc., of fresh fish, the photosynthetic bacteria in dormancy start action simultaneously with melting and work the action of removing on an offensive smell. |
