PURPOSE:To enhance water resistance, plasticizer resistance and oil resistance and to prevent the sticking phenomenon to a thermal head by providing a thermal color forming layer, an intermediate layer containing a water-soluble high-molecular sub stance and a surface gloss layer containing a saturated polyester resin and a lubricant and having a silicon resin fine powder dispersed therein on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is constituted of a support, a thermal color forming layer, an intermediate layer and a surface gloss layer. The thermal color forming layer contains a colorless color forming dye, the coupler reacting with said dye to form a color and a binder and the intermediate layer contains a water-solu ble high-molecular substance. The surface gloss layer contains a saturated polyester resin and a lubricant as main components and a silicone resin fine powder having a mean particle size of 1mum or less is also dispersed in said layer. The intermediate layer can especially enhance the water resistance, plasticizer resistance and oil resis tance of the thermal color forming layer. Further, the silicone resin fine powder in the surface gloss layer has a reticulated structure wherein siloxane bonds extend three-dimensionally and one alkyl group is bonded to the silicon atom in said structure and this resin is excellent in heat resistance and insoluble in an org. solvent and has sticking preventing effect. |
