PURPOSE:To prepare a polycarbonate compsn. excellent in the impact and heat resistance and suitable for producing parts of an automobile, appliance, etc., by mixing a polycarbonate resin with a polyester resin in a specified wt. ratio and melting and kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION:50-90wt.% polycarbonate resin is mixed with 50-10wt.% polyester resin. The mixture is melted, kneaded and reacted so that the proportion of dihydric phenol-dibasic acid bonds to ester groups of dibasic acids derived from the polyester resin reaches 0.05-1 mol%, thus producing a polycarbonate compsn. When molded, the compsn. gives a molded item having a higher Izod impact strength than that of the polycarbonate resin. |
