<p>PURPOSE:To enable mass production of the subject novel breed hybrid plant belonging to allium in vitro by carrying out cell fusion between a protoplast derived from a plant belonging to allium and another protoplast derived from another plant belonging to allium. CONSTITUTION:Cell fusion is carried out between a protoplast derived from a plant (e.g. scallion, onion, leck, Welsh onion or garlic) belonging to Liliaceae allium and another protoplast derived from another plant belonging to allium and the resultant fused cell is then cultured to form a callus. The resultant callus is cultured on a solid culture medium containing plant hormones to differentiate a hybrid plant body and to growth multibud blastema, thus producing the objective hybrid plant belonging to allium.</p> |
