In order to turn products (3) over, especially food products during cooking, on a surface (1), at least one spatula (7) is mounted, capable of rotating on itself between a position of gripping a product and a turned-over position, on a support (9) suitable for accomplishing, with respect to the surface (1), combined movements between a position of movement down towards the surface (1) and a position of movement upwards from the latter, as well as between a position of movement forward and a position of movement back with respect to the surface (1) in a defined sequence involving, in succession, the gripping of the product (3) on the surface (1), the lifting of this product (3) with respect to the surface (1), the turning-over of this product (3) and its fall in the turned-over state onto the surface (1). It is also possible to turn a product over automatically and to replace it, after turning over, on the surface on which it was previously located.
