The subject of the present invention relates to methods and labels for marking items of ski equipment. A method according to the invention consists in making an inscription, enabling an item of ski equipment, for example a boot 5 to be identified, on a face of a label 4 in transparent plastic material, particularly made from polyvinyl chloride, and in sticking the face bearing the inscription to the boot by means of a cyanoacrylic adhesive which produces a cold weld. One application is the marking of hired boots, skis and ski stick grips. <IMAGE>
