The suction display is used to indicate when the dust filter (17) and/or the dust bag (12) needs replacing. It uses a temp-sensitive element (26) detecting the temp. of the heated air on the discharge side of the motor driven suction fan (14), to exhibit a colour variation providing a visual indication for the user. Pref. a valve (21, 22, 23) regulates the flow of the heated air on the suction side of the fan to the temp-sensitive element (26), dependent on the pressure within the filter space (13) and/or the motor space (16).
