PURPOSE:To prevent side guide plates from pinching a sheet by starting an initial action unless a zero detecting sensor in a stacker and a passage detecting sensor in a paper insertion part of the stacker detect a sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is turned on, a guide plate is initialized. In this case, on condition that neither the zero detecting photosensor PS 13f in the stacker 13 nor the passage detecting sensor PS 13g in the paper insertion part of the stacker detects a sheet, side guide plates 13a and 13b move inwardly. When the side guide plate 13a turns on a side guide reference PS 13d, it return to the outside (home position), where it stops. At this time, the other side guide plate 13b moves together with the plate 13a. When the zero detecting sensor photosensor (PS) 13f and the passage detecting sensor PS 13g detect a sheet, a jam occurs. Thus a sheet pinching trouble is evaded. |
