The magnetic resonance probe consists of a matching tuning circuit (18), a coaxial cable assembly (30) and a switching circuit (34). The coaxial cable loop consists of two supply sections (16), the core conductors of which are linked (4) to two second sections. The total lengths (30) of the cables are equivalent to one quarter of the wavelength of the intended activation pulse. The tuned supply circuit consists of a tuning capacitor (20), matching capacitor (22) and a summing capacitor (24). The far ends of the central conductors of the cables are linked by switches (26) to the commoned outer sreens of the cables. The switches may be electronic PIN diodes. @(8pp Dwg.No.2A/4)@.
