<p>The system produces a hot draught for use in a blast-furnace, by burning gas and air, the heat from the exhaust gas being supplied to a ceramic heat-exchanger. The draught of cold air is compressed and then heated in the exchanger. In a continuous process, the gas and air are compressed before combustion, which takes place under pressure. The exhaust from the exchanger drives a gas turbine. Gas and air are heated before combustion, and the turbine power is used to compress both, and also the cold draught air.</p> |
