HUT045548 Nonionic surfactants based on hydroxy-oxazoline derivs., modified by urethane gps. are prepd. as follows: Units of ethylene- or propylene-oxide are built into mole chains adjoining oxazoline rings, by condensation. Intermediates so obtd. react with aromatic or cyclo-aliphatic-poly-isocyanates and/or their prepolymers. Any remaining free isocyanate gps. react with an alcohol (1-8C) to complete the reaction.
