The housing (9) of the hub encloses a whirling-disc motor (6) and pump (14) with pistons (4) in cylinder blocks (8) interconnected back-to-back by a hydraulic fluid channel system (13). The motor's disc support plate (10) is pivoted in a bearing (11) for transmission of the drive by spokes (2) to the wheel rim (1). The pump's disc support plate (18) is similarly adjusted by hydraulic pressure (26) via an axial bore (27) to smaller pistons (32). USE/ADVANTAGE - On motor-cycles. A compact, stepless, easily operated and maintenance-free gear-change can fulfil selectively additional functions of free-wheeling and braking.
