Disc positioning equipment for juke box - uses scanner to locate start and end of reference marks to determine centre of mark in conjunction with 2nd scanner and control circuitry

A magazine (MZ) has position reference marks (MR) on the front surface. The positioning device (AS) is driven by a motor via a spindle/shaft (SP), and includes scanner, transmitter and receiver (S,E). The scanner (S,E) detects the start and end position of the reference mark (MR) allowing the width of the mark (MR) to be determined. The device (AS) can then be positioned in the centre of the mark (MR) by moving half of the calculated width from either the start or end position. Pref., the mark (MR) is indicated by an impulse signal with the rising/falling edges indicating the start/end of mark respectively. The motor can be controlled by a circuit (ST) utilising impulse counting circuitry. USE/ADVANTAGE - Record charging equipment; scanner can be mechanical (inductive/capacitive or mechanical).
