PURPOSE:To have ignition at a certain ignition timing corresponding to dislocation of the sensed angle position given by a crank angle sensor from the actual value, by sensing this dislocation, and correcting the ignition timing of the basis of the dislocation. CONSTITUTION:The maximum intra-cylinder pressure sensed by an intra-cylinder pressure sensing means when fuel supply is stopped and the engine performs only pumping action, is generated at the compressive upper dead center. Thus the angle position corresponding to the compressive upper dead center at which the intra-cylindrical pressure maximizes, is sensed by an intra-cylinder pressure peak position sensing means, and the angle deviation of this angle position from the compressive upper dead center sensed by a crank angle sensing means is calculated by an angle deviation calculating means. Because this angle deviation corresponds to the sensing error of the crank angle sensing means, the ignition reference is corrected to the normal position if the ignition timing is corrected by an ignition timing correcting means on the basis of the abovementioned angle deviation, and ignition is performed at the desired ignition timing. |
