PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PERMANENT CULTURE OF VEGETATIVE MICROBA CELLES

For the prepn. of prolonged shelf-life vegetative microbial cell cultures contg. 10-12,000.000 microbial cells/ml, a suspn. of vegetative cells or one or several strains is prepd. and treated with a neutral potassium salt soln. contg. - 10 power-7 meq./l potassium for 12-24 hrs. at 5-15 deg.C. - The potassium soln. is washed out and a lyophilic macromolecular cpd. of 0.1-50 wt.% pref. 0.2-40% concn. - (based on suspn. wt.), and 10-10000 microm. pref. 20-5000 microm. particle size is added. The inoculum is cultured and several batches are mixed together and opt. concentrated. The shelf life of such prepns. is at least 40 days at +5-+25 deg.C.
