The course computer for flight path optimisation contains a first computer unit (50) receiving start and target points, information, esp. topographical information, about the terrain between the start and target points and at least one optimisation parameter. The computer applies a series of supporting points between the start and finish points and determines the paths including the supporting points which are optimal for the entered parameter. A second computer unit (52) improves the optimal path from the first computer. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for use in cruise missiles for reliable, rapid optimal flight path determination at low cost.
